Directions to Weir House from Colombo by Road

Option 1

  • From Colombo drive to Avissawella
  • From Avissawella proceed to Ginigaththena
  • Turn left at Ginigathhena to Nawalapitiya
  • Turn onto the Nawalapitiya – Gampola Road and drive for 6km.
  • Arrive at a bridge with a signpost stating Gampola Police Area. You may call us at this point and we will accompany you to the property.
  • Turn onto a small gravel road that is on the left of the road about 20 meters before you reach the bridge. Travel 1.1 km along this road and you will then arrive at the Weir House.

Option 2

  • From Colombo to Peradeniya
  • Turn onto the Peradeniya – Gampola Road (A5)
  • Proceed on this road until you reach Gamp
  • Head onto the Gampola –Nawalapitiya Road.
  • Drive to the town of Ulapane
  • Drive past the Ulapane town and you will reach a bridge with a sign-post stating Nawalapitiya Police Area. You may call us at this point and we will accompany you to the property
  • Turn onto a small gravel road that is on the right of the road, about 20 meters from the bridge. Travel 1.1 km along this road and you will then arrive at the house. Our name board will be on the gatepost.

Transfers

By Train

The Intercity Express train leaves the Colombo Fort Railway station every day at 7.00am and arrives at Peradeniya at 9.30am. From Peradeniya you would have to re-board another train departing at 10.55am heading to the small town of Ulapane. The staff of the Weir House will meet you at the Ulapane train station or we could organize a car to pick you at Peradeniya.

By Plane

Both SriLankan Airlines and Cinnamon Air offer flights to Kandy. We could arrange a transfer to the Weir House for you.
