The Weir House is situated in Ulapane, in the Kandy District. Located in Sri Lanka’s central
highlands the region has a pleasant climate with stunning hills covered in tea bushes,
indigenous forests and pine trees (a leftover from the British colonists). The Mahaweli, the
country’s longest river is a rushing ribbon of blue that cuts through the landscape.
The Weir House is a great base from which to explore the “hill country”. Popular destinations
such as Kandy, Kitulgala and Adam’s Peak are just an hour away, Nuwara Eliya is easy to reach as
a full day excursion and we are en-route for travellers heading to Ella.
